parMERASA - Multicore Execution of Parallelised Hard Real-time Applications Supporting Analysability

The target of the parMERASA project is to show new ways to satisfy the increasing demand on computing performance in hard real-time systems. Parallelising applications is regarded as a breakthrough to match the performance requirements but it introduces several new challenges. These challenges are in particular: how to parallelise a hard real-time application, what is about possible requirements from safety relevant systems, how will a suitable hardware architecture look like, and how can it be quaranteed that all real-time requirements will be met?

The parMERASA project addresses these challenges with partners from both universities and industry from France, UK, Spain, Germany, and Czech Republic. Possible application scenarios are provided by the industrial project partners from the aerospace, automotive, and construction machinery domains. The techniques, architectures, and tools proposed by parMERASA will be evaluated using these scenarios.

An industrial advisory board with participants from six companies conducts the project and ensures that actual concerns of industry will be taken into account.
